Earth 1's remains is a collective bunch of debris and floating bits of land. It's unknown how the original planet Earth was destroyed, and how Earth 2 came to be as a carbon copy with all life and activity moved perfectly intact. It originated as a surreal gag, but has since been a recurring and important plot point throughout Funny Windows Errors, mainly as inhabitance of various villains, and nowadays the permanent lair of Dark Kenny.
Transportation method
Sam has the mysterious ability to turn errors into portals, which lead to the same wormhole. The wormhole is displayed as a starfield.
Coverage
Funny Windows Errors
In S1EP5, Sam commented that a certain gibberish error he read almost gave him "the gibberish seizure". The next error is much smaller and only consists of gibberish, resulting in what could be that said seizure. Following that, the error turned into a wormhole portal that pulled Sam in as he freaks out in reverse. The rest of the episode consists of Sam traveling through the wormhole.
After that, he falls into a mysterious "car" where he gets a call from a "RadicalFaith360" avatar stating that it's his car. After the "car" collapses and Sam flies out, the rest of the episode consists of Sam reading a few errors from Atom Smasher's error gallery.
In S1EP6, Sam arrives and is greeted by a YTP incarnation of Billy Mays. Sam's first visit at Earth 1's remains consists of poorly-done and confusing YTP references, particularly of Marck3611, with the biggest example being "the Big Toilet City" (a cs188 reference), a play of the Big City Toilet. He's then greeted with two short-lived villains spawned by an error request from Joshua Wilson, Ylvis and Sonic.exe, who are soon defeated. Sam's visit ends upon saying the Konami code, "↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A", followed by a clip of an escape scene from Gradius III.
In S1EP7, Sam gets a warning from the Scary Logos Clan, particularly by the G-major 1990 VID mask, stating that they captured a few protagonists, Siri, and the YTP Billy Mays. He promptly sends himself back to the wormhole. Before he could make it, the RadicalFaith360 avatar frees the two and zaps the VID mask away.
In S2EP3, it's unknown at the moment om what happened in the previous episode, presumably to rescue Kenny and Joshua. Later in the middle of the episode, Dark Kenny (back when he was known as Evil Kenny) and the SLC captured Kenny, Joshua, and a few other friends offscreen, which prompted Sam to come back again only briefly. After an error request stunned Dark Kenny and blew him away, Sam took everyone back home.
In the season 2 finale, all that can be remembered at the moment is a battle against the SLC.
In S3EP6, the same cause of Sam going back in S2EP3 happened, but without the SLC. DK tries to disarm Sam with a GoAnimate-styled grounding, but nothing works. Sam later attacked, which DK faked his demise. Possibly unrelated, but Sam gets redirected to an "unknown area", as announced by an unknown voice. The unknown area turns out to be a mysterious base where Ace is held captive and is occupied by the Supreme AI. The base turned out to have no possible security and is possibly severely bugged to the point of interpreting Sam as a member instead of an enemy. After freeing Ace, the base started to cave in on itself while saying that it's going to exterminate the two.
In S3EP7, the past designs of the cast randomly appeared in Sam's room to rant about how he replaced them and also closed the old YouTube channel. After old Mike tried to attack Sam, he punched him, making him glitch out and eventually turn into a wormhole portal in the ceiling, pulling everyone in. While the others are left behind, Sam gets taken to Earth 1's remains where he is confronted by Caveman and Engrish AI, both hosted in cheap-looking machines. The two claim responsibility for the time rift that poured the old character designs into Sam's room, claiming it to be a mere distraction from the Supreme AI's business. After the sudden appearance of a mysterious capsule, which promptly stunned the two, Sam got a chance to escape and return home.
In S3EP9, an error request from the last episode warned of AustinTubby and "Flowey the Flower" seizing some unknown protagonists' souls. Upon coming back home, Sam remembered and promptly rushed to Earth 1's remains to battle Flowey, where he eventually lost and is seized as well. Microsoft David takes his place for the rest of the episode.
In S3EP10, the souls were mysteriously rescued, and Sam was recovered later in the episode.
The season 3 finale marks the first time Sam went to Earth 1's remains without the wormhole. Upon his deployment as a space force soldier to the space station, the house is revealed to the audience that it's a ship. Offscreen, it traveled to different places as they moved for new job locations. As AustinTubby waits at the remains, Ace watches the house's arrival to the space station and eventually forecasts the station's possible attack by AustinTubby, and Dark Ace emerges from him and flies to AustinTubby, leaving Ace unconscious. This is where Sam battles the two and Ace joins in later on. Sam loses for the second time, but Ace wins for him. At the end of the episode, the Supreme AI and her army is said to be starting the process of constructing a superweapon of some kind.
In S4EP3, Sam is informed by Ace about Dark Kenny capturing Microsoft David and a few other victims, which he promptly takes a wormhole. That is until DK senses his approach and eventually scrambles the wormhole's direction to lead somewhere mysterious.
In the 2018 Christmas special, all that was shown was Dark Kenny opening his present.
