Welcome to the TTSCpedia (beta)! This wiki is the successor to the FANDOM/Wikia version! You may create an account on the new wiki during the Public Beta stage and begin editing. Please see the to-do list here. Any content from the FANDOM/Wikia wiki will not be transferred automatically, such as pages, and accounts. That must be done manually by the end user, being you. |
Limited Feature Set Many TTSCpedia features are currently semi-broken due to regressions introduced with the MediaWiki upgrade. We hope to be fully operational again soon. The MonoBook skin has temporarily been set as the default skin due to Cali not being fully ported to the new version of MediaWiki. |
The TTS Videomaker's Starter Kit
Information possibly Outdated The information on this page might possibly be outdated. If you were the original writer of this page, it is highly recommended to update the page if possible. |
Do the following criteria apply to you?
- You are a new or returning TTS video creator.
- You're interested in making TTS videos.
- You need a good, safe download for the TTS voices and programs.
Well then.
Presenting...
The TTS Videomaker's Starter Kit!
This handy little page will give you everything you need to start creating your own TTS world! It'll contain links to the voices, suggestions on good video editors, and even ideas for creating your own character concepts!
You can find extra tutorials here, but let's begin with the basics.
Voices and TTS Programs
As any good viewer and aspiring videomaker should be aware, the videos are nigh useless without the voices and programs. As such, there are provided download links of Nick's own personal backups.
Additional SAPI5 voices and online TTS resources can be found here.
TTS Voices
- L&H American English(SAPI5 Michael and Michelle)
- L&H British English voices (Seen as Peter and Carol)
- Sam and Friends
- Freddy and Brutus
- Microsoft Anna and Lili
- SAPI5 Sam, Mike, Mary
TTS Programs
- Speakonia (Version 1.0, discontinued by CFS-Technologies; possibly no longer usable? Registration info can be found in this tutorial)
- Balabolka (Version 2.15, still getting updates as of February 2019)
- nkrs200's Studio Center (Version 4.0.109 (Thunderhawk), consistently getting updates as of September 2019 with a full functioning portable version in the works)
Video Editors
For as important as the voices are, without a video editing program you won't be getting anywhere. VEGAS Pro is a rather good option, but good luck finding a legal version that's affordable. VEGAS Movie Studio is the cheaper half of VEGAS, but it has considerably fewer features than Pro. Most people started out with Windows Movie Maker and eventually grow to a different video editor. Or don't. There is at least one YouTuber who didn't leave WMM behind for a very long time (he eventually switched to Wondershare Filmora).
Windows Movie Maker 2.6 can still be downloaded right here.
But if you need more editing power, a few free VEGAS-like editors exist, but it's unknown whether it's really used by the TTSC.
This list is incomplete, more video editing programs may be out there

Character Design
Of course, what's a video without characters? ...several different genres, but not the kind we're going for here. You'll probably want Sam, Mike, and Mary, as well as other characters that you've either created or "borrowed" from other YouTubers.
But how about designing them? What will you go for? (Examples are Microsoft Sam, since he is the most significant)

Quite a lot of ways to choose, huh? Not to worry! Those are just the beginning! You could use several different ways! Computers, Miis, Roblox models... heck, even come up with your own!
I would suggest making a list of the characters you want in your TTS universe, followed by each of their voices. Here's an example, using the Cast List for Project Take Two, done in OneNote 2010:
As you can see, the characters are listed nicely in a 3-column table: A row for the character's Name, their Color, and their Voice. This helps keep the list organized (and then you can use the "To-Do" feature to check off completed concepts.)
Alternatively, you could use Google Drive's office programs (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) or Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc) if working with another person.
Error/Sign Generators
For as important as the voices and video editing software are, without an error/sign generating program/website you won't be getting anywhere. atom.smasher.org is the place to go for Windows 95/XP, along with multiple custom funny sign generators, as that is what older TTS video makers use every day. if you want something that supports all of the Windows OS's, Studio Center Supports them all. there is one in development from a user that's been with us for a while now.

This should probably be all you need, but it's still subject to change.
