On May 11, 2019, TheVideoKid782 sent a ping on Discord opening requests for the series. On May 22, a second proposition for production was featured, with the episode ultimately being uploaded on June 4, 2019. Four subsequent episodes were produced, with the fifth episode serving as the series finale and featuring a scripted format similar to that of ErrorGang's third season.

A unique feature about the show is every episode reaching 100 views in less than 3 years, a stark contrast to the original show. Episode 1 also has 71% of the viewership Episode 1 of the error show has, despite the error show being up for a whole 5 years before Funny Signs was even thought of. Likewise, Episode 2 has 85% of FWE's S1EP2 views.

* The major rebrand of the show with ErrorGang resulted in this show being concepted.
* Unlike the original ''IVONA Eric'' show, this series had nearly a month of development in place before it ever premiered.
* Overall, Microsoft Sam leads Eric in total speaking lines in this show by a mere 25 lines.
* There was a very short proposition to make this the main show in May 2019.
* Episodes 1,2, and 5's theme song is "ERRORGANG" by TOWAGA. Episode 3 and 4 use "Music using sounds from Windows 98 and XP!"
* While with the final WTPO delay ended up being nearly 2 years resulted in a major window for more episodes, it was decided that THE FIFTH would be the series finale. Because of this, it became the only scripted episode.
* THE FIFTH would be the only original piece of ErrorGang content uploaded in 2021.
