With MS Paint his primary tool, Angus has been part of DeviantART since 2008 and posted his first YouTube video the following year. Most of his videos consisted of images from dA based on fan art, memes or art summaries, the latter becoming an annual staple on his page. Most of these early collections didn't get a lot of views, with the exception of multiple images created from a self-made template based on the DEUUEAUGH meme from SpongeBob. Despite being heavily down-voted, the combined 36,000 views as of February, 2019, seemed like a personal achievement.

But others took notice.  The first to use these renditions for TTS videos was Shawn Wooten, who was continuing the series of Walt Disney Home Video Logo Bloopers after Guyisbackable's first two episodes.  Episode 3 debuted a few of these characters on March 23, 2015, and Angus was duly credited for these designs for the first time.  Other YouTube uploaders to use these designs since then include Falcon Lord Productions and Matt Crowley.

By 2016, Angus finally got a hold of some tools for making his own TTS videos, including Balabolka. Already using Windows Movie Maker for videos, he gave Microsoft Sam his first speaking part on his own channel by hosting his end-of-year DeviantART summary.  It is here that Angus learned the big difference between formats.  When he would put reasons for his selections in the video descriptions, these ran anywhere from two to four and a half minutes.  Having a voice narrate each monthly selection, as well as providing a trivia question and other information, pushes the time frame further, and the 2016 summary ran nearly eleven minutes.  On a side note, Sam's lines were done on one whole voice file!

For 2019, Sam had a short video to congratulate former Seattle Mariner Edgar Martinez for making it to the Baseball Hall of Fame via Windows Error, but this also gave way to the characters giving voice to "PBS 1971 Logo Bloopers 3," the first time the slideshow got the TTS treatment.
